Laser Therapy at Back in Balance

What is Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT)?

Laser is a modality which involves using a handheld device that shines a laser or low level light onto the body.

How Does LLLT Work?

This laser can penetrate 5 inches deep into your tissue to reach injuries and damaged tissue at a deeper level.  When the laser light interacts with tissue a borage of photochemical reactions occur.  First, the laser causes the mitochondria of the cell to produce ATP, which causes the cells to regenerate faster and results in a faster healing process.  Second, chemical reactions occur which cause vasodialation and brings fresh blood to the damaged tissue.  This will flush out inflammation and stimulate faster healing. Last, the laser will cause reactions that block pain, thus reducing the need for pain medication.  The best part of laser therapy is that it can speed up the healing time and get you back to participating in your sport, workout or hobbies sooner than later.

What does LLLT treat?

LLLT can help heal acute injuries such as sprains, strains, contusions and more chronic injuries like neck pain, back pain, migraines, rotator cuff injuries, arthritis and much more!
