Most people experience some degree of change with the changing seasons in mood, behavior, sleep patterns, eating. When these changes are so powerful that they cause significant problems it is called seasonal affect disorder.
Symptoms of SAD include:
- Feelings of sadness or a serious mood shift when the seasons change.
- Lack of energy.
- Cravings for carbohydrates.
- Overeating.
- Loss of interest in pleasurable activities, including loss of sexual interest.
- Difficulty with sleep, either by sleeping too much or experiencing insomnia.
