Test Your Thyroid at Home in 5 Minutes
Think your thyroid might be dragging you down? Fatigue, brain fog, weight changes, and feeling cold all the time can be signs that your thyroid needs support. While blood testing is the gold standard for identifying imbalances, there’s a simple at-home method that can give you an early clue—and it only takes a few minutes.
The Basal Body Temperature Test
Here’s how it works:
Grab a glass thermometer (not digital) and keep it by your bedside.
For three consecutive mornings, place the thermometer snugly under your armpit before you get out of bed—movement can raise your body temp and skew the results.
Leave it in place for 10 minutes, then record your temperature.
Do this for three days in a row and calculate your average temperature.
What to look for:
Below 97.8°F consistently? This could be a subtle clue pointing toward hypothyroid function—when your thyroid isn’t producing enough hormones to keep your body firing on all cylinders.
Above 98.2°F? That could indicate possible hyperthyroid activity—but temperature can fluctuate for many reasons, so use this as a directional clue, not a diagnosis.
So… what now?
If your average basal temperature falls below that 97.8°F mark, it’s worth taking a deeper look. The great news? We’ve got you covered.
