One cause of high blood pressure that can encompass some of the other lifestyle factors is obesity. In order to work on lowering high blood pressure, that also comes with living a healthier lifestyle overall. This means improving your diet to consist of whole foods such as fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and beans! In addition to these, it also requires cutting out other foods such as sugary drinks, added sugar in general, and limiting processed foods and meats. One simple step is to simply limit the amount of salt you consume–you’d be surprised how much salt is hidden in everyday items! Beyond food, it is also equally important to live an active lifestyle. It can become common to live a sedentary lifestyle where your day goes from bed to chair to couch, with very little time spent standing or moving. Aim for even just 30-60 minutes of walking per day.

Finally, add chiropractic care into your regimen! Adjusting specific areas of the neck can actually improve your body’s blood pressure receptors! How cool is that!
